Even though it was just a short trip to Arlington, Zero had stocked Dave with snacks, a cooler full of drinks, and entertainment--such as 'Teach Yourself Guitar' and 'Drumming Made Easy.' Now all she needed was the band.

Dear squall, she hoped the band showed up.

Parker showed up right on time as soon as she could get out of Gun Club, chugging Evian and looking unnerved. "We've got everything, right?"

Zero nodded, then amended, "Well, I'm waitin' for some big strong boy to load the drum kit because I'm but little, but other'n that, I think we're good."

"I got Anders to promise he'd be here. And Jack isn't flaking out yet." Parker sat on the tailgate and drummed her fingers on the door. "Can you believe this is the last one?"

Hey, look. Chad showed up. He had Teddy eventually in tow, and lifted the hand that wasn't carrying his guitar case in a waveless wave.

Zero restrained herself from hugging Chad again. She settled for waving manically instead. "Chad! Hi!"

The manic waving was pretty damn cute. "Hey, Zero. What's up?"

Which he realized the obvious answer would be 'zomg concert,' after he asked.

"Hey, Chad." Parker smiled and pointed to the box of snacks. "Last road trip. Pizza at the convention, but load up before then."

There was the slightly quivering of Chad's lower lip; she just had to say that, didn't she? It was much easier to cope with if you didn't say it. But he nodded, took note of the snacks and said, "Thanks, Parker. Y'know what kind of convention it is? Or we jus' goin' where the wind blew us?"

Alec showed up with a grin, looking excited. "So, we leaving soon?"

Zero couldn't restrain herself. She stopped hugging Dave's hood and dashed over to hug Alec. "Yay you came!"

Grinning wider, he caught Zero and hugged her back. "Of course! I couldn't let you down after such a good practice yesterday, right?"

Dean came up a moment later. "Hey," he said. "Alec said I could ride with you but I've got the Impala if it's a band members only thing...?"

Anders showed up after Gun Club, in his roadieing gear -- that is to say, jeans and his motorcycle boots and jacket.

"One roadie, as ordered."

"Daisy!" Zero cried gleefully as she ran over to hug him. "Hi Daisy!"

"Zero!" Anders responded, catching her mid-run for a hug. "You're very happy to see me."

Chad gave Anders the good old chin-lift greeting and grunt.

"Hey, Chad," Anders said, responding with the appropriate sort of chin-lift. "How's it going?"

A few minutes after Anders arrived, Bel shimmered in beside him. "You forgot something aside from permission," he said, then grabbed Anders, drew him against him, and gave him a big smooch.

Okay, maybe making Parker's head explode was a factor in choosing to do this.

Hannelore showed up with her bag full of supplies - antibacterial lotion, extra latex gloves, and assorted small cleaning supplies. And Winslow, of course.

"Hannelore, hi!" Zero said. This band member she did not attempt to hug. "I'm so squalling glad you could make it!"

Parker blinked at the supplies, then waved to Winslow. "Hi, Hannelore. Hi, Winslow. Thanks for being here."
