Parking Lot by Causeway, Saturday Afternoon

Even though it was just a short trip to Arlington, Zero had stocked Dave with snacks, a cooler full of drinks, and entertainment--such as 'Teach Yourself Guitar' and 'Drumming Made Easy.' Now all she needed was the band.

Dear squall, she hoped the band showed up.

Alec showed up with a grin, looking excited. "So, we leaving soon?"

Zero couldn't restrain herself. She stopped hugging Dave's hood and dashed over to hug Alec. "Yay you came!"

Grinning wider, he caught Zero and hugged her back. "Of course! I couldn't let you down after such a good practice yesterday, right?"

"Thankyouthankyouthankyou!" Zero said.

"'Welcome!" Alec said, laughing. "So, any pointers before this thing? Or should I just be surprised by whatever happens?"

"If you hurt the Strat, I'll have to attempt to kill you," Zero told him. "And that would just be sad because I am not a highly trained killing whatsit."

Dean came up a moment later. "Hey," he said. "Alec said I could ride with you but I've got the Impala if it's a band members only thing...?"

Zero jerked one thumb over her shoulder toward Dave. "Have you noticed how huge our van is? There's room. And snacks! But if you want to take the Impala, s'up to you."

"Nah, I'll ride with you then," Dean said. "Driving's not as much fun if I'm doing it alone. And if there's anything you need help with..."

"You can be a roadie an' carry our stuff," Zero suggested. "We can always use more cute roadies."

"I can do that," Dean said with a grin. "Can't be too different from hauling ammo and rock salt for Dad."

"Swerval! Your first roadying duty...hrm." Zero pointed to the trap set. "That needs to go in the back of the van."
