Teal Dear Trip: midnight-5:30 AM

After their finale and no fights whatsoever knock wood, the band headed to the La La Voodoo Lounge's parking lot to load Dave for the long trip back to Fandom.

Load the van, fight over who gets shotgun. At some point Zero took custody of the keys, and she wasn't acting like she'd give them up without a fight.

Some Back Road Somewhere--Break Down!

Two hours from Wheeling and two hours from Fandom, in an area best described as 'the middle of frakking nowhere,' Dave took a wrong turn. Then Dave started making horrendous clanking grinding sounds.

Then Dave stopped dead.

"Uh....guys?" Zero said. "I think Dave died."

Parker hadn't noticed that Dave wasn't behind the Porsche yet. She was making turn onto the drive past the State Forest.

Chad was eying the dashboard with a look of tragic surprise. A very stoicly tragic surprise. Aww, c'mon, Dave, old buddy! You can't die on us now.

He was wondering if a kick-start might be in order. An actual kick start. That's how they got some of the vehicles they highjacked back home to work sometimes.

Isabel had been dozing against a sleeping Jack. Wiggling a bit, she managed to make him let go and she sat up. "Died? What?"

"Okay," Zero said, "here's the swoo. We're lost and broken down, an' the phones don't work. So what we need to do is split up--and yes, I know this goes against horror movie logic, but hear me out--split up an' go for help. So I'll take half of you and go east, and Parker will take the other half and go west. Who's comin' with me?"

"Come on, guys." Parker glared down at her very-high heels as she started West. "The sooner we find help, the sooner we can get Dave permanently fixed and get home."

The east group returned, more tattered than they'd set out. Zero was cradling something in her jacket, which occasionally made mournfully muffled wails of, "Tailypo!"

"I don't know," Zero said to Nadia, "Maybe we could make a temporary bracey thing from drumsticks?"
