Zero had chucked most of the mess into her closets and covered Fish's cage. On top of the dresser was an array of takeout containers from Ching Tai: rice, spring rolls, dumplings, Kung Pao shrimp and Sichuan chicken, along with other selections. Chopsticks and forks for the less brave were sitting nearby, and ginger beer was chilling in the fridge, which could also provide milkshakes if anyone wanted those instead.

Now all she needed was the rest of the band.

((Closed to the band people. Minimal OCD going up. All right, have at it. This was supposed to go up earlier, but Comcast thought it would be cute to shut off my cable for maintenance.))

Parker cocked an eyebrow at her, then shrugged. "You neeeever know. Something else to think about-- more attention, when you're up onstage. If it gets obnoxious, that's another one of my jobs. Unless you like taking care of that thing yourself."

"I think I've learned how to handle handsy men if it comes to that."

There are better ways to handle them. Perdita asked and Agnes turned a little pinker.

"Nothing a hatpin or a couple of dirty tricks Nanny taught me can't handle."

Parker grinned, liking Agnes more for that. "Go, you. I usually punch, but subtlety is good too." She took a sip of her ginger beer, and started to relax. "So, how are you liking Fandom so far? Aside from the different shape of the world?"

"I think I like it here." Agnes looked again at her fortune and tucked it away in her dress. "The people are interesting and some of the classes might be confusing, but I think I can learn from them."

"Glad to hear it. Have you gotten familiar with the Radio yet?"

"Yes. Blair taught me about it and even gave me a radio." And then she'd heard Joxer call her round and she'd had the chance to put him properly in his place. "I love it."

"If I can think of a good pirate bribe-- well, right. When I get enough rum? I'm hoping to get you guys some air time to promote your appearances. So you'd get to hear yourself on it, later." Parker grinned. "It is great, isn't it? Do you have a favorite Fandom Radio dj yet?"

"Not yet, but not Joxer and not the boy who kept talking about balls and teams and such." She tried not to blush when Perdita snickered about balls.

"Conner. Jock. And that's his main thing. Balls of -- all kinds." Parker grinned a little, and shook her head. "You haven't *lived* 'til you've heard John Crichton on a tear, though. I think he broadcasts this weekend. And yes, he is insane." She shook her head.

From what Agnes had already heard of the radio non-music broadcasts, she was a bit dubious. "Insane person on the radio. Will I be able to tell the difference?"

Parker tilted her head and admitted, "Okay, possibly not. Wait. Which one was your roommate? I've missed a day here and there."

"Joxer is my roommate. He called me 'round' on the radio." Which, true or not, there was the principal of the thing to think about. "But we worked that out."

"Oooo. Occasionally? Joxer's an idiot. I beat him up his first week here, because he didn't know when to quit in a spar." Parker cocked her head, and asked, "Hatpin or other arrangements?"

Agnes' smile sharpened for a moment, possibly lending her face a different cast before returning to normal. "Other arrangments. He woke up Saturday morning with a frog in his bed and a look in his eye that said, ribbit?"

Parker cackled in total delight. "Oh. My. God. That's *beautiful.* Much cooler than just beating him up! You are my new favorite person of the week, Agnes." She raised her bottle to Agnes in salute, then drank, still giggling. "Ribbit."

Agnes did a little inner dance of glee at Parker's reaction. "You don't have to use violence or magic nearly as much if you just use your head first."

"Got that right." Parker sighed happily, imagining Joxer facing down a frog. "I once threw a guy's clothes off the roof as payback for a very bad joke. But I wish I'd thought of frogs. Or chickens. Heh."

"Scaring them lasts longer from what I've seen." It certainly worked for Granny. "I've had some good teachers."

She was also realizing that Perdita had been blessedly almost silent for the whole time she'd been talking to Parker. She suddenly liked Parker a lot.

"Wicked," Parker said, meaning it in every sense.
"I have an ongoing, um, 'project'." She scowled, then grinned. "So far I've made him take self-defense lessons, and gotten him drunk and high at the same time. If you have suggestions? I will listen to them with an eager ear." Piously she added, "For his own good. Of course."
