Zero had chucked most of the mess into her closets and covered Fish's cage. On top of the dresser was an array of takeout containers from Ching Tai: rice, spring rolls, dumplings, Kung Pao shrimp and Sichuan chicken, along with other selections. Chopsticks and forks for the less brave were sitting nearby, and ginger beer was chilling in the fridge, which could also provide milkshakes if anyone wanted those instead.

Now all she needed was the rest of the band.

((Closed to the band people. Minimal OCD going up. All right, have at it. This was supposed to go up earlier, but Comcast thought it would be cute to shut off my cable for maintenance.))

"Conner. Jock. And that's his main thing. Balls of -- all kinds." Parker grinned a little, and shook her head. "You haven't *lived* 'til you've heard John Crichton on a tear, though. I think he broadcasts this weekend. And yes, he is insane." She shook her head.

From what Agnes had already heard of the radio non-music broadcasts, she was a bit dubious. "Insane person on the radio. Will I be able to tell the difference?"

Parker tilted her head and admitted, "Okay, possibly not. Wait. Which one was your roommate? I've missed a day here and there."

"Joxer is my roommate. He called me 'round' on the radio." Which, true or not, there was the principal of the thing to think about. "But we worked that out."

"Oooo. Occasionally? Joxer's an idiot. I beat him up his first week here, because he didn't know when to quit in a spar." Parker cocked her head, and asked, "Hatpin or other arrangements?"

Agnes' smile sharpened for a moment, possibly lending her face a different cast before returning to normal. "Other arrangments. He woke up Saturday morning with a frog in his bed and a look in his eye that said, ribbit?"

Parker cackled in total delight. "Oh. My. God. That's *beautiful.* Much cooler than just beating him up! You are my new favorite person of the week, Agnes." She raised her bottle to Agnes in salute, then drank, still giggling. "Ribbit."

Agnes did a little inner dance of glee at Parker's reaction. "You don't have to use violence or magic nearly as much if you just use your head first."

"Got that right." Parker sighed happily, imagining Joxer facing down a frog. "I once threw a guy's clothes off the roof as payback for a very bad joke. But I wish I'd thought of frogs. Or chickens. Heh."

"Scaring them lasts longer from what I've seen." It certainly worked for Granny. "I've had some good teachers."

She was also realizing that Perdita had been blessedly almost silent for the whole time she'd been talking to Parker. She suddenly liked Parker a lot.

"Wicked," Parker said, meaning it in every sense.
"I have an ongoing, um, 'project'." She scowled, then grinned. "So far I've made him take self-defense lessons, and gotten him drunk and high at the same time. If you have suggestions? I will listen to them with an eager ear." Piously she added, "For his own good. Of course."
