Around the Dorm, Saturday Morning

A petite girl with bright pink hair and eclectic clothes went to and fro, carrying her things across the lawn and upstairs to room 220. Occasionally she would stop to swear, kick something, or rest for a few minutes. Throughout the whole process a pink cockatoo sat on her shoulder, offering occasional helpful commentary such as, "ARE YOU MY MUMMY?"

Peter slung the backpack on his shoulder and picked up the case. "Lead the way."

"So, did somebody drive you and they just didn't want to say hi to the boy who didn't marry and impregnate their daughter, or did you bus it?"

Zero started up the stairs, talking to him over her shoulder. "I flew and then cabbed it, actually. Everything happened so fast no one was available to drive me. Except Arsenal and she's about to pop any day now, so..."

"Really?" Peter asked. "You're about to be Auntie Skankabelle?"

"Yes, and they still haven't decided on a name," Zero told him. "The poor thing'll wind up 'To Be Named Later Hopeless-Savage-Shi' at this rate."

"They could call the kid 'Toby' for short," Peter pointed out.

"But that's a boring name." Zero opened the door to her room. Fish peered at them from his perch. "Well. Here we are."

"Okay, they can call him 'Named Later,' then," Peter said, walking inside and putting her stuff down. "Wow, so this is what it's like to be alone in a room together without a family member wandering in every five minutes on the dot. I forgot what that's like."

"Or maybe just 'Named.'" Zero grinned. "Yeah, s'nice. We can even shut the door and no one will bother us. Except Fishy."

"I think I'm better with questions about your bird's parents than I am with an uncomfortable roommate," Peter said. "So we'll just have to deal with Fish, I think."

"I can put him in the cage and put the cover on an' he'll shut up," Zero offered.

"I think that suggestion has a lot of merit and I'd appreciate it very much," Peter said, closing the door.

Zero put Fish in his cage ignoring his cheerful, "Zdrasvuite!" right before she put the cover on. She turned back to Peter and said, "Alone at last."

"I missed this, too," Peter said before leaning in for a kiss. "A lot."

Zero still needs a kissing icon leaned in to kiss Peter back.
