Around the Dorm, Saturday Morning

A petite girl with bright pink hair and eclectic clothes went to and fro, carrying her things across the lawn and upstairs to room 220. Occasionally she would stop to swear, kick something, or rest for a few minutes. Throughout the whole process a pink cockatoo sat on her shoulder, offering occasional helpful commentary such as, "ARE YOU MY MUMMY?"

Anders and Conner were on their way out for breakfast when Anders spotted the bright pink hair and had to make a detour.

"ZERO!" he yelled, barreling across the lobby to greet her. "How the frak have you been?"

"DAISY!" she squealed. "I've been smexing frustrated! Can you believe the squalling film school lost my enrollment? After I'd already been there six weeks, even!"

"You're kidding me," he said. "How the frak do they lose your enrollment after you've already been enrolled? Not that I'm sorry to see you or anything. I missed you!"

"I dunno, but they were all," Zero stood up straight and assumed a very professional voice, 'We're sorry, Miss Hopeless-Savage, but these things happen,'" an' I was like, 'Frak you, I'm goin' back to Fandom.' So here I am, an' I'm probably goin' to have to introduce myself to half a frillion people, huh?"

"These things happen, my ass," Anders said, rolling his eyes. "Well, okay, they do, and yeah, there's a frakton of new people including at least one more pair of lookalikes, so you might want to take notes. Start you off easy, though -- this guy here's Conner McKnight."

Angela was carrying her own pile of stuff when she crossed Zero's path, but she set it down to hug her friend. "Zérrrrro," she trilled in a half-passable French accent. "Oh my god, I thought you were gone until September."

Zero set down her amp and set Fish on top of it, then flung herself at Angela. "Angela! I was, but film school lost my enrollment, so now I'm here!"

"Lovely. I'll never keep it all straight, I just know...Hi, Conner. Nice t'meet you."

"That's awesome," Angela said. "I mean, not that they lost your enrollment, because that part sucks, but that you're back when I'm back."

"How was film school?"

Zero gave a theatrical groan. "They made me take freshman comp. And here I thought there would be actual filming, but noooo. How was your vacation?"

Isabel was on her way to the Perk for coffee when she saw Zero. "Zero! Hi! Welcome back!"

"Don't worry, I don't think anyone can any more," Conner assured her, holding his hand out. "Zero, right? Need any help carrying stuff?"

Angela wrinked her nose. "At least you got it out of the way for next year?" she offered. "And vacation was ... parts of it were incredible. Parts of it I could have done without. But we went to Tahiti, L.A., and Paris, so I guess I get points for glamour or something."

"Hi, Isabel! It's so good to be back, I can't even tell you. Film school was boring as squall after this place. Oh and also why'd you change Peter's hair?"

Zero shook his hand and grinned up at him. "Skank Zero Hopeless-Savage, is me. If you an' Daisy'd grab these suitcases--" she gestured to the pair she'd set down, battered and covered in travel stickers--"that'd be swerval, thanks."

"I imagine most places are boring after here. Seriously? What's life without Jello dragons?" Isabel shrugged sheepishly, "Sorry, he asked nicely. But I can change it back anytime you'd like."

"Ooh, Tahiti. I've always wanted t'go to Tahiti. Was it terribly hot in Paris while you were there?"

"I missed Jell-o dragons? Squall! No, it's just that I went to all that trouble dying it and all. And I thought he looked quite dashing." Zero pouted for a moment, then brightened up. "Oh, well. I guess I'll just have to dye it back!"

"Got 'em," Conner said with a smile, snagging one and gesturing for Anders to pick up the other one. "What room are we off to?"

"Not too bad," Angela said. "High 70's, low 80's, around there. People were completely obsessed by World Cup, but it was nice because it meant the tourist stuff was pretty empty."

"Last week at the go-kart race. Greg and I had to fight one that was made of peach jello. It got messy." Now Isabel felt bad, because Zero had gone through the trouble of dying it the regular way. "He did look good. I tried to convince him to keep it, but after what happened during the prank war I think he'd had enough of different colored hair."

"220. So not the fifth floor or somethin'. So, Conner, how're you likin' Fandom so far?"

"It's pretty awesome, so far. Workshops have been fun, there are lots of pretty girls --" he ignored the glare from Anders -- "and the people are cool. So far, nothing to complain about."

"Sounds like fun, then. Well. If you could ignore the footie-crazed crowd."

"Nothin' weird goin' on, then? No..." Zero snickered for some reason. "Gremlins?"
