Monday Morning/Afternoon, Room 220

The door is propped open on what looks like a disaster zone as Zero frantically tries to pack up everything before she leaves tomorrow. She'll be gone all June summer, after all.

She has a strawberry milkshake, and Fish is perched on one of the bedposts, occasionally chirping, "Danke schoen! Are you my mummy! Pretty bird! Pretty bird!" Come visit her. She'll give you a milkshake.

If she can get to the fridge, that is.

((Edit: The door is now closed, and you'd better have a really good reason for interrupting the room's occupants.))

Peter knocked on the door frame and smiled. "Hey there," he said. "Getting ready to leave me all alone for months upon months?" He was holding a plastic bag in one hand and looked like he was making a half-hearted attempt to hide it from Zero.

"Yes, because I am a horrible person and a terrible girlfriend. Whatcha got there?"

"Oh. Nothing. Absolutely nothing," Peter said, walking in. "Certainly not some early birthday gifts that you can open right now." He handed the bag of wrapped gifts over despite his protests.

"Oooh." Zero opened her presents gleefully and put on her new pretty jewelry. "Thank you, Peter! I love it!"

"You're welcome," Peter said, blushing. "And I'm going to see if I can run off for a few days next month for your birthday. I was going to have that be a surprise, but I forgot to get you a card, so this evens that out."

"You'd do that for me?"

"Of course," Peter said. "Like I'm worried about missing a few days of summer camp when I could spend them with you."

"Um. Your family knows that the whole marriage thing was a misunderstanding, right?"

"Of course," Zero lied.

"Good. I'd hate for them to think they had a reason to kill me," Peter said, relieved.

Zero made a mental note to talk to her family about the whole marriage thing. "Yeah, they think you're swerval. You responded very well to the threats."

"I'm good at responding to threats," Peter said. "It's just harder when you can't punch or snark back. That kind of thing annoys people for some reason."

"They respond well to snark, actually. But I wouldn't recommend punching. That...well, I know you have superpowers an' all, but I like you in one piece."

"So snark is good. I'll remember that for the future," Peter said, making a mental note. "But no punching. I think that sends the wrong message. Like 'Hey, I'm trying to commit suicide, help me please?'"

"You seem to understand my family well," Zero teased.

"They're definitely my kind of people," Peter said. "Plus, you give good insight into the minds of your family. So I have a cheat sheet."

"Yes, there was that whole interview thing. Rat an' Arsenal like you, so that's half the battle won." Or at least, they liked him until they thought he'd married their impressionable baby sister...

"So I just have to impress your parents and we're set. I can do that," Peter said with the kind of confidence you can only exude when you don't know that her parents think you're married.

Zero will fully correct that before Peter comes to visit. Really.

Well, it depends on her mother's mood.

"They'll love you. And you have to impress Twitch, but Twitch is easy."

"Good," Peter said. Too bad his spider-sense didn't work a month in advance.

"I'm going to miss you." Peter shrugged. "But if I ever miss you too much, there is the brothel, so I should be fine."

"Mm, yes, I'm sure you an' the chiaroscuro whores'll get along great."

"They're big fans of mine. Did I tell you about how they played with me when I was wee? I'm their favorite person in the world," Peter bragged.

"No, I didn't hear about that. Did they hurt you? They're a little scary."

"Crazy Hooker offered me a cigarette and I told her that smoking made her look like she's in her forties," Peter said with a small laugh. "I got away okay, though."

"Oh, you're lucky, then. Did you have to run very fast?"

"Only after the ninja threw something at me. I continued to taunt them when I ran, though. I mock in the face of danger," Peter explained.
