Hopeless-Savage-Parker Apartment, New York, Saturday

It was a lazy day in New York, and Zero was debating what to do with herself now that she'd finished all of her summer classes. She kind of wanted ice cream, but that would require working up the energy to actually leave the apartment, and right now lazing on the couch and messing around with, variously, her cell phone and her guitar seemed to be about her speed for the day.

Her life was so fascinating, really.

Peter walked into the living room with his Spidey pants, some spare blue spandex, a needle and thread, and a resigned look on his face.

"Bad guys only rip up my mask or the backseat of my pants. I don't understand this," Peter mused randomly.

"Mebbe you need stronger fabric," Zero suggested from her lounging position.

"Have any suggestions?" Peter asked. "But nothing the might squeak. I've got to be stealthy sometimes."

Zero wore mainly cotton and leather, but she said, "I could look into it."

"This is yet another reason why you're the best ever," Peter said. "I'm actually keeping a list of those reasons and will be making a tumblr listing them any day now."

"And here I just write songs," Zero said with a grin. "Alternately, you could get me ice cream."

"I'm dedicated to helping people, so I can't in good conscience say no to that," Peter said with a grin. "What kind do you want?"

"The kind that is ice cream," Zero declared. "You could surprise me."

"I can't help but think of that as a challenge," Peter said. "Are you sure you don't want to come with? I'll be going the speedy Spidey way. It always makes people in the shop happy to see a superhero standing in line."

"I will be wearing actual pants, though. I don't want to give everyone a show."

"I appreciate your putting on actual pants," Zero said, grinning at him. "But I don't feel like putting on actual pants. That is the problem. And it is fully a challenge." She paused, then said, "Nothing with fish. That's just wrong."

"Should I get anything for Fish," Peter asked, thinking himself to be oh so clever.

"Iunno. I have no idea if birds can eat dairy," Zero admitted. "Am I a bad pet owner?"

"I don't think so," Peter said. "It's not really something that comes up usually."

"Okay, ice cream for the people, seed for the bird? Back in a few?"

"You are the best boyfriend ever," Zero informed him. "Or, actually, maybe I should withhold judgment until you get back with the ice cream."
