As the group entered the store, they were greeted by a crowd of women, all waiting to meet Angelica Demesnes. Large tables held copies of all her books for those who hadn't brought their own, including the brand-new Crown Diamond. Zero gleefully snatched up a copy of her very own.

She turned and followed Marlene toward the coffee shop. "Such a nice girl," Parker could hear her say. "Not at all what you'd think of a barbarian countess as."

Parker facepalmed. "Okay. Anything I ever said about you fitting in here?... Still applies. But maybe not in this bookstore."
