Zero was awakened, honestly before she really wanted to get out of bed, by her cell phone ringing. She grabbed it, flipped it open, and said, "Hello?" And no sound came out. What the hell?
"Hello? Hello? Zero, are you there? Bollocks--Da, I think there's something wrong with this phone--if you're there, this is Twitch. Arsenal's in labor. We're all goin' to the hospital now. It should be a while, so don't get too freaked out--"
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT SHOULD BE A WHILE??"
"Um, Arsenal really doesn't want it to be a while, but her water hasn't broken yet and a lot of other female things I really had no desire to hear about and, yes, I'll call you when you're an auntie...and I'm an uncle, good Lord. And I have no idea if you're even listening, so I'll write you an e-mail when I get a chance, just in case. Love you, bye. Hope you're having fun at camp." Click.
What Twitch didn't realize was that the whole time he was speaking, Zero was frantically trying to scream into the phone, and that when he hung up, she stared at the phone in disbelief for a long moment before tearing out of the cabin, still in her pajamas (t-shirt and boxer shorts) to find someone who could tell her what the squall was going on.
