Barnes & Noble in Alexandria, Saturday Afternoon (NFB due to distance)

As the group entered the store, they were greeted by a crowd of women, all waiting to meet Angelica Demesnes. Large tables held copies of all her books for those who hadn't brought their own, including the brand-new Crown Diamond. Zero gleefully snatched up a copy of her very own.

((Due to Parker's connection woes, there will be no travel post. Come one, come all!))

"If you could make them out to Jack, and if you could write in the extra one out 'To Jack's Sam', and also have it say, 'sometimes physical improbabilities are possible' that would be wonderful." Jack tipped his head, smiling even more charmingly. "You have an amazing style, it's not like anything I've ever read before."

Jack rushed to correct her. "No, no, I meant no offense. I'm sure they are. In fact, some of the things in your books I've done myself," he lowered his voice and added, "I actually have a hammock in my room, as well as a bed." In a more normal tone, he continued, "Sam's a physicist, sort of, so the physical improbabilities are to do with that, not with your amazingly engaging sex scenes."

"Thank you very much." Jack briefly debated asking her about the scene with the cabana boy, eyed the margarita, and thought better of it. He could always write her a letter. "If you need someone with a lot of practical experience and expertise as a consultant for your next book, I'd be more than happy to offer my services."

"Only in years. Not in experience. Trust me." He walked his fingers across the table and trailed two of them down her hand, his smile going from charming to something a lot more suggestive. "I coud supply references, if you like."

Jack knew when to cut his losses. "Okay. Thanks for the books, I appreciate it." As he turned to go, he couldn't quite resist turning back and saying, "That bit with the two musicians and the dancing girl? That only works if the one with the reins is on the outside," before skittering off, laughing to himself.
